I am bit of a political junkie. It has been an especially interesting year watching the Democratic primaries and all the speculation that goes with it. I tell you what, I have never been more happy not to be a Democrat, but at the same time not excited to be a Republican. I can't stand Obama Hussein Barack or Billary Clinton, but it is so much fun watching them beat the hell out of each other. I have never seen two people who felt more entitled in my whole life! It's hilarious.
Listening to Rush Limbaugh about all this makes me want to puke - he is such an idiot. The way he intentionally mispronounces words like "issue" in such a condescending manner is annoying to say the least. It's a tough year to be a Republican - no strong candidate (come back Mitt!), our "voices" annoying as hell (go away Rush, clam up Hannity). People aren't idiots - stop talking to them like they are!
Rave on Democrats! Pray Republicans - it's going to be a long long 4 years!

One Of Those Days...
It seems that negativity is all around me lately - work, home, church etc. I try to be as resilient as possible, but even the strongest of us have breaking points.
We have this neighbor that is a bully - feels he owns the street. They allow their kids to play in the street and get upset if you have to drive by. It tried to walk out in front of my car yesterday - I mean it was deliberate as if he we trying to assert his dominance of the territory. He stood on the side of the street until I neared. Then, he lunged out into the street. What an idiot! We don't speed or anything - he just has to be in charge. My experience has been that people like that are in charge of little or nothing in their lives, so they act out to try to assert themselves in other ways, like my #%@*'n street.
What are you going to do. There seems to be more and more people like this in the world today - just being jerks for the sake of being a jerk!
I guess the best revenge is to ignore them and live as positively as you can - whichis what I need to do today - I need to snap out of this and not let people like this get me down.
Stay positive everyone! Don't let the jerks of the world win!

Earth Day - What a Scam
I find "Earth Day" to be such a scam, I really need to say something. Believe me, I feel being good stewards of our planet important, but these so called "environmentalists" just don't have a clue.
Take ethanol for example. Because of these pseudo-intellects harping against oil use in the world, ethanol was extolled as a cure for this evil crude. Now what do we have? Food shortages across the world, escalating food costs, and still high oil prices. Good move environmentalist Nazis! They want to penalize the oil companies, yet the only ones who pay are you and I each time we fill up or go to the grocery store. Environmentalists are driving these costs by making it harder to produce and supply energy to the world.
Can we do it more responsibly? Probably. But let's do it responsibly and with the true interest of the consumer in mind. It is in the interest of all of us to have a clean healthy planet - but let's think before we act. Running from one enviornmental fad to the next is proving disastrous and is getting us no closer to any real solutions.
Happy Earth Day everyone! And here's to Al Gore sticking his enviornmental footprint up his hypocritical backside!

Spring
I hate to be hasty, but it looks like Spring may really be here! I live in Colorado Springs and have for 4 years, and one thing I've learned is that April is a weather roller coaster here. Last week, we had an 80 degree day, and then a blizzard the next! This past weekend was awesome, and I hope that it lasts. I have some fun plans for next weekend, and I am hoping for the best. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is on the agenda for one thing.
I picked up the new Breeders album last week. Still don't know what to think. There are some good, accessible tracks and some that a bit tougher for me to like. Sometimes it takes a while for them to grow on me. They are coming to Denver in concert and I may go see them play.
Have a great week.

Jane's Addiction Reunion
Our prayers have been answered. It appears Eric Avery has decided to join the other lads for a reunion to accept their NME award. I know so many people are excited at the news! Thanks Eric!
I hope this will lead to a full scale tour with the original members. How sweet would that be! For now, we'll be happy for this one.

Jane's Addiction Award at NME
I have always been a huge Jane's Addiction fan. I recently read the NME Magazine is presenting them with a lifetime achievement award or something like that. At least three of the guys have agreed to show up and receive the award with the lone hold out being Eric Avery.
I sure wish he could put aside his differences with the other guys and show up. Jane's was always better with him in the band, and it just wouldn't be right to not have him there. I know he recently put another solo album out (anyboby heard it?) and has been doing press for it. My hope if that he will be there for this.
Speaking of new albums - anyone heard the new REM yet? Just wanted to know if it's worth getting!
Have a great day!

Checking In
I can't wait to get this started. We are going to talk politics, music, food, whatever floats our boat. Politics seems to be a real inetersting topic right now given all that's going on in the primaries.
I hope to hear from a lot of you about what you see and hear - good and bad. You may not agree with me, but that's cool. We are in America after all!
